A Timebank member can earn time credits by giving practical help and support to others. Everyone’s time is equal so one hour of your time volunteering earns you one credit which can be exchanged for an hour of something that you need.
Time Credits
Time Credits are a way of exchanging time spent volunteering in return for services and experiences that you can share with others.
How it works
Time Credit systems work on a simple hour-for-hour basis: for every hour you give to your community you earn one Time Credit, which you can then spend on an activity of your choice.
You can earn time credits by:
- Litter picking
- Driving the mini-bus for the local day centre
- Helping out at your local youth club
- Attending or setting up a peer support group
You can spend time credits:
- At the place where you earned them
- On the local activities and opportunities
- Give them to someone as a thank you
- Somewhere across our UK network
