In addition to managing funds received, Aishat also has experience on the grant-making side; from assessing grantees and setting up grant management systems to overseeing the delivery and reporting of awarded grants.

Throughout her time in the charity sector, she has supported partner organisations and community groups with their financial management, helping to strengthen internal controls and build confidence in reporting. For the past four years, she has focused on supporting small and medium-sized nonprofits – including charities and CICs, with everything from day-to-day bookkeeping and system set-up to ensuring compliance and preparation and timely filing of statutory returns.

She brings a wealth of experience, practical know-how, and a clear understanding of how strong financial management underpins mission impact.

Prior to that, she spent many years with Cambridgeshire County Council in a wide variety of roles spanning Community Development and Children’s Services, including policy work, project management, front line preventative services, and quality assurance.

Having seen first-hand the positive impact that local voluntary organisations have on children, families, and communities, Anna is passionate about helping both new and established groups thrive across all themes.

Community involvement has always been at the heart of what Anna does. She has volunteered with many organisations over the years and currently serves as both a volunteer and trustee for the Parent Teacher Association at her daughter’s school. She’s also an active member of several local groups in the East Cambridgeshire village she proudly calls home.

This included working in grant assessment, managing casework and volunteers for a community mediation charity, and development work and training for a volunteer centre – she is a CTLLS accredited trainer.

Chris is a lifelong volunteer and currently volunteers as a befriender and trustee of a small community group.

In 2020, she moved to the UK and went back to her marketing and social media background; she previously worked in the private sector as marketing executive and account executive.

In her spare time, she has always volunteered – mainly focusing teaching English as a second language in foster homes in Chile, animal welfare, and social organisations. She is excited to be part of Support Cambridgeshire as their Communications Officer and be part of their wonderful journey as an organisation.

Her first passion though was in International Cooperation and Development, and she holds a BA in Peace Studies from Florence University and a MA in Refugee Studies from the University of East London.

She has volunteered in several Italian, UK and international organisations, and she enjoys participating in community projects whenever family and work commitments allow.

In her role as Operations Manager, Emma will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maple Centre, working closely with our dedicated team to ensure smooth and efficient management. With her keen eye for detail, she will liaise with tenants, handle HR administration, and support various areas of Support Cambridgeshire, from organizing events to keeping systems and policies up to date.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching films, and holidays.

Between then and now, Faith worked in community development; information and communications; campaigning, and community arts across non-profits including health, education, local government, as a freelancer, and with another CVS, before being lucky enough to spend time at home with her little ones.

Jigna qualified as a family lawyer and completed her legal training working for a law firm based in Kent and then moved to the North East of England where she worked in law firms representing clients in receipt of legal aid.

She then spent time in the USA working for the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Programme.

Jigna is the mum of three boys which keeps her busy but in her few spare minutes, she enjoys a good book, yoga, walking and getting together with friends and family.

Until recently she was a volunteer Governor at her local primary school and continues her voluntary work with the school which includes being secretary of the school parent group.

In recent years she enjoyed running her own video editing business alongside working as Outreach Co-ordinator at the charity Cambridge Online. Both roles gave her the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful charities across Cambridgeshire.

When Karen isn’t working, she is busy at home with her husband, two children and a high-maintenance cat, Boo. She enjoys spending time catching up with friends and family, watching films, reading autobiographies, and taking country walks – always with a camera in her hand!

Karen also volunteers, using her editing skills to help charities and community groups, and when time allows, supporting with social media too. You can also spot Karen in a high vis vest a few times a year helping StAR pick up litter around St Ives.

Karen feels that the most enjoyable and rewarding part of her career has been helping charities with their communications and promoting their services so is extremely happy to be continuing that work within Support Cambridgeshire.

Previously she served as Deputy Executive Officer at Hunts Forum, contributing to the organisation’s development before it became Support Cambridgeshire. Her work reflects a long-standing commitment to strengthening local communities and supporting voluntary organisations across the region.

Throughout his career, Kenny has worked with a diverse range of organisations, from national charities to local initiatives. His expertise in content creation, social media, and stakeholder engagement has helped amplify causes close to his heart. Notable roles include positions at Kidney Research, Disability Peterborough, and The Woodland Trust, where he led Membership Communications.

Outside of work, Kenny is a devoted father to his young daughter and a passionate sports enthusiast. He also dedicates time to tutoring children, sharing his knowledge in both education and sports. Kenny’s commitment to community impact drives his work at Support Cambridgeshire, where he looks forward to further supporting local charities and voluntary organisations.

Lorna’s working life has been varied; spending a lively, early career working with children as a qualified nursery nurse, followed by an enjoyable 10 years at Saffron Walden Library, particularly working with volunteers and running the library service for housebound members.

Having volunteered herself, and benefitted from voluntary organisation support, Lorna values the vital role that voluntary groups play, in making a positive difference to people’s lives.

Lorna works closely with the whole Support Cambridgeshire team to maintain and develop communications between individuals, groups and stakeholders.

She has lived and worked in the Fens for much of her career and is looking forward to supporting groups throughout the local communities in this area with the ‘Support Fenland’ project.

Outside of work Marija volunteers on the Whittlesey Festival Steering Committee , something she has done for over 12 years, helping to deliver this annual, popular event, part of the Four Seasons events in partnership with Fenland District Council. She has strong links with local schools organising a community art exhibition and enjoys inspiring all ages to get involved in the performing arts with presentations and workshops that she delivers.

He has extensive experience working in the sector at local, regional, and national levels. He has also been a trustee for a number of organisations both in Cambridge and nationally.

Mark has a Master in Business Administration from the Open University and Post Grad Diplomas in Development Management and in Housing Management.

In his spare time, Mark is a father to two girls (which takes up most of his time) and is also involved with a number of groups in the village he lives in.

Most Sunday mornings you can find him volunteering at the Cambridge Junior Parkrun at Milton Country Park.

She is a dedicated professional with a deep passion for community involvement.

Her background includes independently managing a community group for four years, where she served as the Chairperson.

Following this Rima transitioned to a role focused on project work, specialising in the establishment of new community groups and providing support to existing ones.

Her experience encompasses both the leadership and facilitation of community initiatives, and this reflects her dedication to fostering vibrant and sustainable community connections.

Rima brings all these skills together to promote and support volunteering across the county in her role.

As a parent of three wonderful children, family values and balance are integral to Rima’s life. Outside of work, you’ll find her immersed in nature, where she finds comfort and inspiration.

Reading is not just a hobby but a constant pursuit of knowledge. She thrives on helping others and channelling that passion into meaningful community initiatives.

Rima is excited to bring her diverse experiences and commitment to her role.

Sally volunteers for causes close to her heart and enjoyed being a volunteer helper with her local Rainbow Girlguiding unit and volunteer mentor with a local non-profit that supports young people, who are care experienced and/or estranged from their families.

She has been the childcare voluntary sector representative for partnership board meetings and is experienced in offering advice and support to charitable community groups. She has been a development manager with responsibility for income generating and the development of new services.

Sallyann is proud to have started her career as a volunteer within the childcare sector and has held various volunteer positions over the years primarily within local junior sports clubs. Sallyann is happy to be working within the community again.

Her volunteering went from being a Cub Scout Leader, a Red Cross Volunteer, and a Scrapstore Volunteer, to her current role as a Volunteer Steward at March Museum.

Together with this, she is always helping anyone wanting to learn to sew, and often holds workshops for both children and adults, having a strong passion for passing on skills which she was lucky enough to have passed on to her.

Sarah’s employment has shadowed this for much of her working life, with over 20 years with the Red Cross as a Service Manager; a Project Manager for Reuseful UK; and prior to her current role, a local Health Trainer with Everyone Health.

Sarah has a love of her home area, Fenland, and considers herself fortunate that a lot of her working life has been around her local community.

Sarah has two grown sons and enjoys family life together with all forms of craft, needlework, sewing and lots of gardening!
