When you think of a hospice you may think of hushed tones and quiet footsteps.

The reality is the Arthur Rank Hospice is a warm and vibrant environment, filled with friendly faces and laughter. Hospice care is about patients and their loved ones receiving wrap-around care to support them to live their lives to the fullest.

The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity‘s mission is to ensure every moment counts for those who are looked after. A tailored approach is offered that treats everyone as an individual, ensuring the focus is on what is most important to each person – we are all unique.

Arthur’s Shed

It is from the hospice site that Arthur’s Shed resides, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. With its large glass doors and bright and airy space, it is a wonderful place to go and meet others and learn something new.

Sessions

From The Shed, a wide range of sessions are delivered on topics such as Astronomy, Meditation, Paper Crafts, Card Making and even Laughter Yoga! There truly is something for everyone and attendees are encouraged to take the opportunity to try something new.

The sessions are led by experienced volunteers who offer their services free of charge to ensure everyone can attend.

Many people are surprised to find that the sessions are open to everyone, you don’t need a connection to the charity to join in.

Arthur’s Shed is pleased to welcome all of the local community to engage in fun activities!

Sessions are informal and relaxed, you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like.

They particularly welcome anyone who might need a little additional support; a calm environment, small numbers (most sessions are between 6-8 people) or to bring a carer along.

If new environments make you a little nervous, they can arrange for you to visit and see the space ahead of your session.
