Demonstrating your charity’s impact: practical reporting for trustees & leaders

A practical 90-minute webinar to help charity trustees and leaders understand the new SORP 2026 expectations around impact reporting and how to collect and use proportionate evidence to demonstrate the difference their charity makes.

Who is it for?

Trustees and leaders of charities who want to better understand their responsibilities for demonstrating impact and strengthen how their organisation collects, uses and reports evidence.

The session will be particularly relevant to charities reporting under SORP Tier 1. No previous knowledge of impact measurement or evaluation is required.

What is it about?

Charities are increasingly expected to explain not only what they do, but what difference their work makes. SORP 26 strengthens the emphasis on reporting achievements and impact, making this an important area for trustees and charity leaders to understand.

This session will demystify impact reporting and explore what good, proportionate practice looks like. We will look at the difference between activities, outputs and outcomes; what evidence charities can realistically collect; and how quantitative information and people’s experiences and stories can be brought together to provide a credible picture of impact.

The emphasis throughout will be on finding approaches that are useful and manageable, rather than creating additional reporting burden.

This will be a practical and jargon-free ninety-minute online session combining short presentations, examples, practical tools and opportunities for reflection and discussion.

You will receive a simple take-away resource to help you consider what impact information your organisation already has, what you may be missing and where you could strengthen your approach.

Who is hosting?

Sini Rinne-Kerridge is an independent strategy, learning and impact consultant and facilitator with more than twenty years’ experience supporting charities, community organisations, funders and public bodies.

Before establishing her own practice, Sini led NCVO’s Strategy and Impact consultancy service, supporting organisations with strategy development, impact measurement, evaluation and organisational learning. She has designed and delivered training and workshops for charity leaders, trustees and practitioners and has worked with organisations ranging from small community charities to major national charities and funders.

Sini is also an experienced charity trustee. Her approach is practical, engaging and jargon-free, with a particular focus on helping organisations understand and demonstrate the difference they make without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
