Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Voluntary Sector Network Update

Together for healthier communities
Sharon Allen’s appointment
We are delighted to announce that Sharon Allen, CEO of Arthur Rank Hospice and a key member of the VSN Strategy Group, has been appointed as the VCSE representative on the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
With the changes underway, we are, as yet, uncertain of the new ICB governance arrangements.
However, having Sharon advocating for us at the highest level ensures that voluntary sector views will be heard as changes are made. Announcements of senior appointments will be shared with the Network.
VSN Member survey
We have had a very disappointing response so far to this survey; only a fraction of our 120 member organisations have responded. So this is a plea to take a couple of minutes from your busy day and give us your views.
We need this feedback to help the argument for future funding.
Creative Health Showcase Plus
This lunchtime learning session on creative health is aimed at commissioners and other partners to help them understand the value of creative health approaches.
It is online on 16th October 12-2.30 pm. We have Jayne Howard, National Centre for Creative Health, coming along to explain the evidence base and four local organisations showcasing their work. This is open to all partners. Book your space.
Cyber Security Workshop
Are you 100% confident that your IT is secure? This workshop, on 22nd October, is being delivered by Mark Dimock, NHS England’s regional lead for cyber security. Mark will be sharing insights and explanations about the various standards and processes that will keep your organisation cyber safe.
An invite has been sent to VSN members. The session is open to all VCSE organisations and groups, so please pass on, any colleagues can email Sandie for the invitation.
Programme Director recruitment
Sandie has announced that she will be stepping down as VSN Programme Director at the end of the year. There will be a recruitment process for a new Programme Director; this may be a secondment or someone who is self-employed. The appointment will initially be until the end of March, but with a very high likelihood of continuation. The role is for 14 hours/week, with more details to follow soon.
