Celebrate your people’s achievements with Digital Badges!
Support Cambridgeshire is excited to introduce digital badges for local community groups and charities to recognise the awesome skills and achievements of their learners, beneficiaries, and volunteers.
Whether it’s through training, development programmes, or other milestones, individuals will be able to earn badges that showcase what they’ve learned. These badges aren’t just for show—they can be added to LinkedIn, shared on social media, or highlighted to employers to boost the earner’s professional profile.
Why earn a Support Cambridgeshire Digital Badge?
Support Cambridgeshire’s Digital Badges reflect key skills that are highly valued by employers across the voluntary sector—supported by robust data from Lightcast. These badges provide clear, credible evidence that the recipient possesses the practical, transferable skills needed in the current job market. And they aren’t limited to voluntary roles—the competencies they showcase are relevant across a wide range of industries, including paid employment.
How to Award an individual with a Support Cambridgeshire Digital Badge
Support Cambridgeshire will provide a direct link or QR code for each badge. Once a learner, volunteer, or beneficiary meets the criteria, this link can be shared with them to claim their badge in just a few clicks. All the technical work has been handled—your role is simply to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate achievement.
How to Become a Trusted Badge Provider
Local community groups and charities can also apply for their own Trusted Badge Issuer from Support Cambridgeshire, making it even easier for their learners, beneficiaries and volunteers to be awarded their individual Digital Badges.
GET Group members and other voluntary sector organisations interested in issuing badges can simply contact enquiries@cambridgecvs.org.uk to request a brief questionnaire. From there, becoming a Trusted Badge Issuer is straightforward.
Who’s Behind the Support Cambridgeshire Digital Badges?
This initiative is a collaboration between Support Cambridgeshire, The GET Group, and the Region of Learning.
Support Cambridgeshire is a voluntary sector infrastructure organisation, consisting of two local voluntary sector infrastructure organisations: Hunts Forum and Cambridge Council for Voluntary Services. We champion and support community and voluntary groups, and promote volunteering across Cambridge City, South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Fenland.
The GET Group — an acronym for Guidance, Employment and Training was formed in 1989, with a mission to provide an ‘umbrella’ Infrastructure Group for the adult skills not-for-profit sector of Cambridgeshire. Anyone who works with or volunteers with a group or organisation who is interested in employment, learning and skills across the county is welcome to attend the GET Group network meetings. The GET Group is now coordinated and administered by Support Cambridgeshire.
In partnership with the Region of Learning, The GET Group and Support Cambridgeshire is helping to empower the voluntary sector to support their beneficiaries, learners and volunteers to recognise their achievements and work. Our shared goal is to champion digital badges, as a way to evidence an individual’s skills.
Together, we are working to ensure individuals across the county receive meaningful recognition for their learning, growth, and contributions—whether through volunteering, employment, or skills development.
By embracing these digital badges, voluntary sector organisations not only empower individuals but also strengthen the visibility and value of the voluntary sector, in supporting individuals on their journey to gain the skills needed to get suitable voluntary work, work experience and find paid employment.
