Christmas Challenge 2024 / Big Give / Deadline 5 July

Christmas Challenge 2024

At Big Give, Christmas always comes early. The Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign.

What is available?

For seven days, supporters of participating charities can double their donations and, in doing so, make an extraordinary difference to some of the world’s biggest challenges.

Why should you apply?

  • Expand Your Donor Base: 95%  of charities report receiving donations from new supporters during the campaign.
  • Boost Donations: 76%  of charities have a significant increase in donations compared to similar fundraising efforts.
  • Strengthen Relationships: 91% of charities develop relationships with new supporters and 96% report the campaign helps strengthen bonds with existing supporters.
  • Access Funding: In 2023, 93% of eligible charities received funding offers from Big Give’s partners. View the 2024 Champions with more to be announced soon. Some of our Champions are looking to exclusively support small charities.

The median income of charities is £500k, and two thirds of the charities they support are small to medium sized charities. The Christmas Challenge has been a fantastic way for smaller charities to build their digital fundraising capabilities and expand their donor base.

Community Grant – Restart a Heart 2024 / RCUK / Deadline 28 June

Apply for funding to raise awareness of CPR and defibrillator use in your local community.

What is available?

RCUK’s Community Grant Scheme is now open for applications.

As part of their Restart a Heart 2024 campaign, grants of up to £1,500 are available for small charities and community groups to help educate people about CPR and how to use a defib. In the UK, only 1 in 10 survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Resuscitation education is vital to increasing the chances of survival from cardiac arrest in your community.

Who can apply?

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to small charities (with an annual income of less than £500,000) and community groups including community interest companies (CICs) and faith groups.

Funding priority will be given to charities and organisations working in geographical areas with low bystander CPR and high rates of cardiac arrest and/or working with communities experiencing inequalities in resuscitation.

Priority will also be given to applications which clearly demonstrate how the project is tailored to meet the language, cultural, and educational needs of participants.
