About

“Proud To Pitch In is an initiative from Greene King IPA, paying cash grants to grassroots and community sports clubs across the United Kingdom. Every pint we sell will add 10p to our fund supporting local clubs from the ground up, providing them with the tools they need to continue to play the sport they love. From football, rugby and cricket to roller hockey or netball, we want to support as many local teams across the UK as we can with donations which can go a long way to keeping everyone in action.”

Objectives of Fund

The aim of this fund is to support sports focussed projects that positively impact their club and/or the local community, and would tangibly benefit from funding. The fund is particularly focussed on sports projects that have a long-term impact.

Examples of projects that have previously received funding include:

  • Renovations of a club’s facilities making them more inclusive and accessible
  • Coaching qualifications and referee courses
  • New equipment

Grants of up to £4,000 are available.

Who Can Apply

If you are involved in running a grassroots sports club you can apply directly via ActionFunder.

Restrictions

To be eligible for funding, projects must be located in the United Kingdom and project beneficiaries must be aged 18 or over.

How To Apply

The fund is open to applications until 31 December 2023 and grants will be distributed regularly. Details of how to apply can be found on the Proud To Pitch In fund page.

Groups will need to apply on ActionFunder. Applying for funding on ActionFunder is a bit different.

Here’s the process: sign up, register your organisation and post a project you want funding for. Your project will automatically match with any funds you meet the criteria for.

If you want to apply for this fund, make sure your project has the right criteria: tick the ‘Physical health and sport’ focus area and limit your funding request to £4,000. Your project will remain live on the platform (ready to match with new funds) until you successfully win funding. ActionFunder’s all about saving you time so that you can get on with what matters: community action.
