King’s Award for Voluntary Organisations – Nominations open
The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) is an annual award presented in recognition of the valuable work carried out by voluntary-led groups in the UK. This award is regarded as the highest honour a voluntary group can receive in the UK. The award recognizes the outstanding contributions made by these volunteers towards their respective communities and encourages others to follow their lead.
To nominate a group for the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, members of the public need to fill out a nomination form and submit it to the awarding authority. The nomination should detail the volunteer’s outstanding contribution to the community and how they have gone above and beyond in their volunteer work.
Past Cambridgeshire and Peterborough winners have included CARESCO, Library at Home Service and Peterborough Asylum and Refugee Community Association. Volunteers ran all and have shown fantastic work within their communities.

Support Cambridgeshire is holding two workshops to discuss the way and support those interested in putting a group forward. While nomination must come from the public, groups have been known to support individuals interested in putting a group forward.
