Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
Who is it for?
This course will be directed at community organisations.
It is an opportunity to get up to date on the safeguarding process and help ensure that everyone is kept as safe as possible from abuse, neglect and harm.
It is recommended that your training is updated every three years.
Paid staff or managers should attend the appropriate Cambridgeshire County Council course designed for them. See Cambridge County Council website
Course Aim
The course will provide information on roles, responsibilities, Safeguarding reporting processes and raise awareness of the basic principles of Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Harm.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Define what abuse is and who we are safeguarding as per ‘The Care Act’ 2014
- Describe the categories of abuse.
- Understand good practice in dealing with disclosures and how to report and record them
- Explore barriers to reporting and the importance of ‘whistleblowing’
Your Trainer: Angela Haylock
Angela previously worked for a small charity for 7 years where she worked as the Designated Child Protection Officer and has delivered Safeguarding training since 2008. In 2013 she set up her own company called The Safeguarding Toolbox.
