Managing Challenging Behaviour when working with volunteers
This in-person training aims to give you a better idea of how challenging behaviour develops, how can you address it and how can you seek to resolve it.
Who is it for?
The training is for anyone who manages volunteers and others and spends time trying to deal with challenging behaviour.
What is it about?
Some volunteers can create a difficult environment for others through their behaviour. Perhaps they are disruptive, unreliable, inappropriate or even aggressive. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better idea of how challenging behaviour develops, how can you address it and how can you seek to resolve it.
What will I learn?
- Key causes of disagreement between people
- People’s different approaches to conflict
- Dealing with angry people
- Negotiation/mediation skills
- What is required to resolve a conflict
What to expect
A combination of presentation and group work. At the end of the session there will also be the opportunity to network over a light lunch with the other community groups attending.
