Introduction to Storytelling
We will explore how digital storytelling can help spread the word about your organisation’s work.
Who is it for?
The training is suitable for anyone who would like to explore what is meant by “storytelling” and learn how it can help their organisation. This session might be especially helpful if any aspect of your work or volunteering involves communication, marketing, fundraising or volunteer management.
What is it about?
What is storytelling? Why should storytelling be an important part of your work? How can it benefit your group/voluntary organisation?
This workshop will introduce the power of storytelling. We will explore how you can harness storytelling to you help spread the word about your work and reach, communicate, and maintain relationships with new and existing supporters.
What will I learn?
In this session, you will learn
– What makes a story
– Why you should tell and share your stories
– How to identify stories and put them to good use
– The different types of stories you can tell, about your organisation
– Ethical considerations when collecting and sharing stories
– How to identify the different digital platforms for sharing stories
What to expect:
On-line training via Zoom, with opportunities to discuss, ask questions and share examples. There will be examples of how other organisations have made use of stories.
