Health and Wellbeing Network – Parks and Green spaces
Would your organisation be interested in using parks and green spaces to benefit your members?
Do you have ideas for projects that could happen with a little bit of help?
Are you interested in the value of parks and green spaces to improve health and well-being?
People who live in places with rich green infrastructure tend to be happier, healthier, and live longer lives.
The Parks Partnership aims to improve the quality and accessibility of all our parks and green spaces providing an environment and activities suitable for everyone. The concept of green social prescribing has been studied as a solution to address this.
The project aims to support and champion the VCSE sector’s role in delivering health-based activities in green spaces. It wants to encourage local groups to have greater capacity and confidence to make use of the parks to be inclusive of a wide range of users.
Nick Pond will come to the Health and Wellbeing meeting to explain how groups could get funding, and what the criteria would be. It could be a new project or increasing the capacity of an existing programme.
