Guidance evening – gaining support

If you are a community or sports related community based organisation and are looking for support, guidance or funds then why not attend the Guidance evening event.

The evening is divided into two distinct subject areas. Organisations can attend either one or both parts.

Duties of trustees training 4 to 6pm

This aims to help committee members and trustees  better understand their roles and responsibilities.  This session will be helpful both to new trustees as well as people who may have been trustees for some time, but who would welcome the chance to revise some of the key responsibilities.

Guidance on fundraising 6 to 8pm

After refreshments and the opportunity to network there will be the chance to hear speakers who can offer a range of funding guidance and to ask them your questions.

Those participating are:

  • Bridget Smith, a consultant fund raiser, project development officer and project manager for a number of councils. community groups and charities.
  • Simon Fairhall, the CEO of Living Sport. Simon is an expert on how organisations can help sports clubs to grow and develop coaching staff, increase their participation rates, and support with the purchase of new equipment and facility development.
  • Mark Freeman, the Deputy CEO of Cambridge CVS will be talking about how community groups can effectively plan and prepare their fundraising efforts.
