Demonstrating the social and economic value of volunteering – an in-person interactive training and networking event
This session is for those interested in demonstrating the impact of volunteering on their mission, their communities, beneficiaries and on volunteers themselves. We know that by effectively conveying impact organisations can build greater public trust and support to attract more donors, supporters and volunteers. The session will combine expert teaching with the opportunity to network with other organisations.
Who is it for?
Aimed at those managing volunteers as well as those in leadership roles. There will be takeaways for those already using volunteer management systems as well as for those at the beginning of their impact journey. There will also be the opportunity to network and learn from your peers.
What is it about?
The session will be led by Gethyn Williams, a volunteer specialist, who will share a presentation and take your questions exploring how you can more effectively measure the social and economic value of volunteering in your organisation.

Who is hosting?
Gethyn Williams is an independent consultant with twenty five years’ experience in the UK non-profit sector at national and local levels. Gethyn has led the national programmes portfolio at Volunteering Matters, provided Ministerial advice within central government’s Covid-19 Volunteering Strategy unit and worked on the Vision for Volunteering and Big Help Out campaigns. Currently developing a digital community of practice with Team Kinetic and the Association of Volunteer Managers, his freelance work spans projects for NCVO , NAVCA and a range of private clients. Locally, he’s completed two phases of enquiry into the work of faith communities across the combined authority area for Support Cambridgeshire and is Chair of DISH and The Evelyn Glennie Foundation
