An introduction to management accounting (free to members)
Who is it for?
The session is suitable for employed staff or trustees who are managing the finances of a charity or social enterprise with an income up to £1m.
What is it about?
Management accounting is the process of comparing what is happening in the real world (our bookkeeping) with what we thought would happen (our budgets). By understanding the stories behind the variances between one and the other we can start to adapt our budgets – and our decision making – to keep us on track.
We will look at:
• Why and how to do management accounts
• What good looks like
• Typical solutions for smaller social purpose organisations
• Top tips and common elephant traps
What you can expect:
• Some slides and Q and A
• A template
• Group discussion
• Please come prepared to share and learn together
The trainer will be Liz Pepler, Director from Embrace Finance who are experts in mentoring smaller charities in building understanding and financial sustainability.
Places are usually limited to 2 per organisation, if you require more places please contact enquiries@cambridgecvs.org.uk
