Understanding our business models to build sustainability with impact
About this event
About this event
So often the things that our organisations exist to do are not the same as the things that raise income, creating “money vs mission” tensions. Understanding what our activities cost, and how they are funded (our business model) enables us to explore how to marry money and mission and look at new ways of working to build sustainability with impact.
This training is being delivered as part of Support Cambridgeshire’s Governance Month.
Who is it for?
Suitable for employed staff or trustees who are managing the finances of a charity or social enterprise with an income up to £300k.
What is it about?
We will look at:
· understanding full cost budgeting and full cost recovery
· how charity business models work
· preparing a money mission matrix to map our activities and analyse our business model
· reviewing how this can help build sustainability
What to expect:
· Some slides and Q and A
· A template
· Group discussion
· Please come prepared to share and learn together
The trainer will be Rachel Cooper, Associate Director at Embrace Finance, an experienced charity finance professional with over 20 years’ experience in the sector
