Employability Courses for Young People 2018

The Princes Trust have two new employability programmes for 2018 – aimed at young people within the County.

Get into Highways Construction:

This is a unique opportunity, partnered with Highways England’s as part of the £1.5bn A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme, being delivered by the A14 Integrated Delivery Team, which is currently the biggest road project in England.

This programme is a 4 week employment focussed opportunity for unemployed young people aged 18-30, looking to start a career within Highway Construction.

Places are limited, but for those who are successful at gaining a place, they will receive:

  • The CITB Health and Safety Awareness Certificate (HSA).
  • FREE CSCS Green Card training and testing.
  • Training Sessions in Groundworks, Construction and Plant Awareness.
  • 2 Weeks On-site work experience with the A14 Integrated Delivery Team.
  • Access to potential job and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Doesn’t affect your benefits & travel expenses paid on programme.
  • Boost employability skills.
  • Up to 6 months mentoring support.

Get into the NHS:

This will be a 6 week training / employment programme for anyone aged 16-30 who are interested in working within the NHS.

Places are limited for this programme too, however those that are successful will gain:

  • Work towards the RSPH Level 1 Award in Health Improvement.
  • weeks training to complete a L1 Customer Service Qualification.
  • 4 weeks work experience within Admin, Estates and Facilities, Housekeeping, Domestic, Maintenance, Support Services, Kitchen Assistant and others.
  • Doesn’t affect your benefits & Travel expenses paid on programme.
  • Boost employability skills and access employment opportunities.
  • Up to 6 months mentoring support.
