Community venue database is launched in Cambridgeshire
Are you searching for the perfect venue for your next family or business event?
Why not consider hiring a community building?
At one time or another, all of us have to find the perfect venue for an event we’re organising. Whether it’s a venue for a child’s birthday party, a place for a group to come together for a specific purpose or even a business meeting, sooner or later we all have to find a venue that fits our exacting requirements.
Cambridgeshire ACRE, the local rural development charity, is urging people to consider whether a community-run building might provide the ideal solution for their needs.
The charity has just relaunched its dedicated website – www.hallsforhire.org.uk – which aims to promote village halls and other community buildings to as wide an audience as possible.
Community buildings can offer the perfect venue for a wide range of uses. Not only are they suitable for family and social events but they can also serve as venues for conferences, meetings, performing arts activities, outdoor events and even the local delivery of health and care services.
The new website allows users to search for potential venues by activity (for example, you can search for venues suitable for conferences or for venues suitable for hosting performances) or you can search for your preferred location and the site will show you all the suitable venues within that vicinity
From there, you can explore different venues in details to see what facilities they offer, the number of people they can accommodate and the likely costs. You can then contact the venue directly when you are ready to book or to get more information.
Community-run venues not already listed on the site are urged to take advantage of the free listing offer. Adding a venue to the site is really easy; just click on the “Add your venue” button on the site, complete the simple form and upload an image you to showcase your venue at its best. Cambridgeshire ACRE’s team will check the listing is complete and turn it live.
Cambridgeshire ACRE is constantly promoting the site to its many contacts across the county, its customers, partners and followers on social media, urging people to consider using a community building for any future event they are planning. Feedback has already been received from a number of halls listed that they have received more enquiries regarding potential bookings since being listed.
