Unlock Funding Opportunities During Support Cambridgeshire’s Funding Month 2025

Funding plays a crucial role in helping voluntary and community groups start, grow, and succeed, ensuring that our communities continue to thrive and support one another. To assist organisations in navigating the funding landscape, Support Cambridgeshire is hosting Funding Month, a series of free events designed to help local voluntary sector organisations in Cambridgeshire access the financial support they need.

Throughout Funding Month, organisations of all sizes—whether just starting out or looking for sustainable funding—can participate in a variety of sessions. These events are open to paid staff, volunteers, and trustees, providing valuable insights into assessing funding needs, discovering potential funders, and developing strong funding applications.

Grow Wild/ Youth Grants/ Deadline 19 March 2025

Grow Wild Youth Grants

Grow Wild is once again offering grants of £500 to young people (aged 16 to 25 years) across the UK to deliver a creative project that celebrates why UK native plants and/or fungi are so special.

The project should be original and exciting and focus on UK native plants and/or fungi. Projects need to engage at least 100 other people (either in person or online). The grant be used to pay for anything to support the project, such as equipment, materials, training, resources, or expert help. Projects can start in May but must be completed by the end of October 2025.

Applications will be accepted from young people aged 16 to 25 years old who live in the UK and who can find a supporting organisation, such as a school, university, youth club or a local community group, to help them deliver the project.

A free webinar will be held on 26 February 2025 (12:00 to 12:45pm). Registration is required.

The deadline for applications is 19 March 2025 (15:00).

Skipton Building Society/ Home and financial well being/ Opens 3 March 2025

Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation

After pausing applications last September, the Foundation has announced it is reopening its grants programme in March 2025 with two new focus areas through which it aims to drive social impact.

The focus going forward will be to help people experiencing hardship and/or underserved groups within the UK to:

  • Access a place to call home.
  • Improve financial wellbeing.

For both focus areas, priority will be given to charities supporting people in the top 50% of the UK Index of Multiple Deprivation.

The Foundation is also making other changes:

  • Only UK registered charities established for at least three years, with three or more trustees and whose work has direct benefit to people within the UK can apply.
  • The maximum grant will rise from £6,000 to £10,000 this year.
  • The Foundation will consider funding core costs, project costs, and small capital contributions that support its focus areas.
  • Applications will be considered twice a year (in June and December) rather than quarterly.
  • There will be two specific application windows (3 March to 1 May; 1 September to 31 October), outside of which applications will not be accepted.
  • Unsuccessful applicants will no longer have to wait two years to reapply. They can reapply in one year. Successful applicants must wait three years.

The online application form will be available once applications open.

The first funding round will open for applications on 3 March and close on 1 May 2025.

Cambs Community Foundation/Investing in Health/ Deadline 1 May 2025

Investing in Community Health Fund

The fund aims to tackle pressing health challenges through targeted support to local non-profit organisations. £50,000 will be equally distributed to organisations in each of the region’s 13 Integrated Neighbourhoods, ensuring that resources reach communities. This localised approach will enable organisations to address specific health needs within their communities while building sustainable capacity for the future.

The fund will focus on three strategic priorities:

  • Improving healthy lifestyles
  • Reducing frailty and social isolation
  • Reducing obesity and educating communities about healthy eating

The fund will be divided into 13 equal amounts of funding (£50,000), one for each Integrated Neighbourhood. The aim is to build capacity based on the specific needs of each local area, leveraging existing local VCSE providers to strengthen current services and provisions. The 13 Integrated Neighbourhoods are listed below. A list of GP Surgeries that link to each Integrated Neighbourhood can be seen here.

Huntingdonshire locality

  • A1 Network
  • Huntingdon
  • St Neots

Applicant groups are able to apply for projects covering more than one Integrated Neighbourhood (a maximum of £50,000 per Integrated Neighbourhood). However, applicants must make it clear in their budget how costings are broken down per Integrated Neighbourhood. Applicants must also be prepared for the possibility that funding may not be received for every Integrated Neighbourhood within an application.
