If you are excellent at collaborating with people in communities and partners, if you are passionate about the difference well-connected communities can make to the lives of our residents and to the demands on public sector services, you are our kind of person!

Think Communities is at the heart of the way the public, private and voluntary sectors work together with communities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. By investing in communities and supporting local delivery by those who know their residents best, we will improve the outcomes for people who do not yet have local support networks, creating places where people can feel safe, healthy, and connected. By supporting opportunities to be inclusive and cohesive they will be encouraged to help themselves and each other creating an environment where children and future generations can thrive.

As Place Coordinator you will have direct line management responsibility for up to two place-based Community Connectors and with highly effective communication skills, you will lead on improving the shared understanding of community assets and local priorities within County Council and with local partners for your area. You will have the confidence and skills to quickly develop trusted working relationships drawn from a wide range of public, private and health sectors, social care, voluntary and community sector, community leaders and other capable people, utilising the strengths of the diverse range of those involved. Fostering a culture of innovation through working in collaboration, partners will represent themselves and each other with the best interests of communities in that place.

This is a fixed-term role to 30 September 2023 with the possibility of extending if funding allows. Secondments are welcome from partner organisations.

The State of the Sector 2022 Survey – We need your help!

As we move into 2022, the past two years have hugely impacted our voluntary and community sectors.

In the past, our annual State of the Sector survey has been a vital source of information for funders, stakeholders along with us as infrastructure organisations.

It gives us the information on the issues and barriers you are facing and therefore allows us to plan to make sure our services are fit for purpose.

Therefore, we are asking as many charities, not-for-profit organisations and community groups as possible, to fill out the survey, so we can see what is happening across the county post-COVID.

Fill in the survey here

Closing date 21st March 2022 – for more information please contact mark@cambridgecvs.org.uk
